About
As the practical culmination of my thesis, the Compères project uses design to introduce a new way of enjoying Kougelhopf. It is an invitation to weave this tradition, along with the craftsmanship of its artisans, back into the heart of our everyday lives.
Historically, the Kougelhopf is a brioche meant for sharing, intended to be enjoyed with family around the table during Sunday breakfasts. As changes in our lifestyles have made these seated gatherings increasingly rare, this tradition is gradually fading from our everyday lives.

System
Compères is designed to re-anchor the Kougelhopf tradition into our daily lives, turning it into a new everyday habit. At the heart of this specialty lies an essential partnership: the potter who crafts the terracotta mold, and the baker who purchases it to bake their brioche.
To reintegrate this heritage into our fast-paced routines, the project offers bakers a new packaging concept. It consists of an on-the-go combo bringing together a hot beverage and a slice of Kougelhopf. Enjoyed on the commute to work or on the way home from school, tradition thus reclaims an active place in our days.

The point
By encouraging professionals to bake this brioche daily for the takeaway market, the renewal of baking equipment naturally accelerates. The ultimate goal is to sustain this unique bond between artisans: the four hands behind the tradition.
